Christmas
Christmas was just a few days ago, and since I always seem to be fairly photo-happy while home for the holidays, this felt like an appropriate first entry into my new photoblog.
I’ve had a blog for a few years now, and it dabbled in repetition/commentary on some current affairs, served as a travelogue while I was in Australia, and was a random dumping ground for photos that I wanted to share. Well, I decided to give it a little cohesion and direction. So, now I’m dedicating this as a photo blog.
I’m not certain of the format yet, but I do know that each post will feature at least one photograph. I mean…a wall of text is just boring, right? Perhaps I’ll discuss why I took a certain picture, or what I was hoping to evoke in the viewer. Or maybe, I’ll just be documenting something that happened, or some trip that I took. Who knows?
A few posts will probably contain a short gallery at the bottom. But, for now, you will have to be satisfied with this picture of my mom cooking up about 2lbs of bacon for Christmas breakfast, and one below of some of our decorations out on the coffee table.

I'm an engineer by trade, and a photographer by hobby. In the fall of 2007, I bought my first digital SLR, a Nikon D40x, and haven't looked back yet. The majority of my photographic expeditions involve abandoned structures in Western Pennsylvania, but I'm never without my camera while on the road or at a Pirates game, and I have been known to take the occasional photo of a plant.
