Renting a Lens
I’m visiting my brother in Colorado next week. It’ll be my first time to Colorado in almost a decade, and the first time I’ll have a chance to look around and actually explore the area.
Consequently, I’m bringing my camera.
I’ve also realized that my wide angle lens leaves some sharpness to be desired. I’ve been drooling over Nikon’s 14-24mm f/2.8G lens for a few months, and decided that Colorado’s picturesque vistas will be the perfect place to see if I can push this lens and see its benefits.
So, I’m renting one from lensrentals.com (I tried rentglass.com, but they were out of stock). It arrives tomorrow, enough time to play around and get used to it before I leave. Wish me luck.

I'm an engineer by trade, and a photographer by hobby. In the fall of 2007, I bought my first digital SLR, a Nikon D40x, and haven't looked back yet. The majority of my photographic expeditions involve abandoned structures in Western Pennsylvania, but I'm never without my camera while on the road or at a Pirates game, and I have been known to take the occasional photo of a plant.
